North Bering Sea - Gulf of Anadyr

Approximately 1,800 line km of 24-channel seismic-reflection data
in the Gulf of Anadyr and across the Navarin
Basin. The data were collected during 1980 from the U.S.
Geological Survey (USGS) Research Ship (S.P. LEE using a sound
source of 5 airguns totaling 1,325 cubic inches.*
The recording equipment consists of a 24-channel streamer, 2,400
m long, with a group interval of 100 m, and a Global Universal
Science (GUS) Model 4200 digital recording system. Shot records
were recorded at a 2-msec sample rate and were later processed at
a 4-msec rate. Navigational control of the survey was by
satellite fixes integrated with Loran C (Rho-Rho) and Doppler-
sonar bottom-track navigation. The seismic-reflection records
vary from 10 to 12 sec in length, depending upon water depth and
geologic structure. The first 10 sec of the shot records were
edited, stacked, deconvolved filtered, and displayed on an
electrostatic plot. The USGS has provided these data to the
National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) (now the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI)) for public dissemination.
